The layout of our photography studio is designed to be minimal and functional. Central to the design is conserving as much open and unobstructed space within the shooting area while being careful not to take functionality away from any of the other key stations in the photography studio.

Soft northern daylight can completely flood the shooting area if desired from a large 15’ wide by 10’ tall window. There are accessible curtains for reducing the light much like you would with a net, and black out curtains for completely eliminating all light in the shooting space. These black out curtains can also be used like flags to cut light based on your positioning of them in relation to your subject matter.

Our seamless rig is 15’ in length and can easily support 12’ rolls of seamless as well as heavier materials such as canvas. One person can easily operate the whole system – the rig will take the weight of the load when you let go, there is no need to tie, or hold the weight yourself for suspension of the load.

Photography Studio Power
Dedicated power is provided to the studio floor on a 25’ and 50’ line. Each line is 20 AMPS and has four plugs per line. This means that you can potentially have up to 5,000 WATTS of power running to the floor – And this is the dedicated power only outside of what is available from standard plugs in the photo studio. The 25’ and 50’ lines also save on needing extension cords. The bottom line is that you don’t have to slow down while you shooting or worry about resetting breakers. We want our clients to be thinking about the pictures that they’re taking, and their creative process, not about technical delays.
PTSMstudios Floorplan

Versatility and flexibility is another important factor that we have taken into consideration when setting up our space. Key stations in the studio are positioned out of the way and to be unobtrusive for the primary application of photography. Such unity is important for maintaining a healthy and unabated work-flow within the studio – your time is valuable to you after all.

If anything in the studio needs to be changed, or moved for the benefit of a particular job we try to make that as seamless a process as possible. Many pieces of furniture are designed to be mobile, or can be minimized – in the future, elements of the photography studio that are not mobile will be upgraded toward that end goal.

Photography Studio Makeup Tables

Two talent can be processed at the same time to maximize the time of your makeup and beauty team. The tabletop of the makeup station is protected with durable glass that will take the heat of hair irons – You can also slide reference photos and notes underneath the glass without worry of spills or smears and it saves on space too. A full-length mirror is nearby and a double wardrobe rack with many hangars is available on site along with a steamer.

PTSMstudios Client Area

The client area has a mobile sofa on castor’s for fast re-arranging of the space. More chairs can be added to the area as necessary. WIFI is included in your rental for mobile devices and laptops. The client area also has a power bar for plugging laptops in and direct USB charging straight from the power bar for any USB powered devices such as iPhones, or iPods.

The kitchen in the photo studio is designed like a craft station on set – It is meant to be approachable and accessible for your clients, crew, and talent alike during the photographic process. Cutlery, plates, bowls, tea cups, cookware, and glasses are all provided. A large coffee urn is available when you bring your own coffee to brew and if you don’t want to brew your own coffee you can always get a traveler from Starbucks or Tim Horton’s which are steps away – we even post the phone numbers to order them so you can just go and pick them up when they are ready and not have to wait in line. We can also provide espresso, and a milk frother which is easy to use and self serve if you want to make your own lattes or cappuccinos. There is also a microwave, toaster oven, bodum, electric kettle, induction top, and a mini fridge for drinks and keeping food cool.
